Ava’s Story

Recently we have had the great privilege of photographing a brand new baby girl named Ava. Ava captured our hearts to say the least. During the shoot we were informed of “Ava’s Story”. We asked Ava’s parents to write her story so that we could share it with all of you.

Ava was born on July 22nd and appeared to be a normal happy baby. On August 24th, on a routine checkup the doctors discovered that Ava has a congenital heart defect affecting her body’s oxygen absorption (transposition of the great arteries). To fix this problem she must undergo two very invasive heart surgeries. Complicating matters, the doctors found that due to her poor oxygen levels she suffered severe brain damage. This greatly increases the risk of added complication if she was to undergo the heart surgeries. The doctors urged her parents to take her home and enjoy the time they have left. We continue to pray for a miracle.

Please keep this sweet baby girl and her family in your thoughts and prayers. We felt privileged to have been able to take part in such an important and meaningful photo shoot as well as have had the chance to capture the amazing bond that this family shares. Baby Ava has a special place in our hearts always.

This was our first “Trash the Dress” session and it was SO much fun! We didn’t quite get to “trash” the dress because we ran out of time but here are some pictures of our part one session. Part two will be the trashing!! Thank you to our beautiful model Jennifer for lending us her wedding dress and herself for this shoot!! <3
